Derelict Railway

In 2005 Whorlton Lido was sold and permanently closed. The railway slumbered, waiting patiently for its time to come again, hidden under the moss, dead leaves, water, and vegetation.

Moss-covered rails lay under branches in the eastern loop cutting.
A good part of the straight section was flooded.
Rails could just be seen under the grass and moss in the western loop.
